Seeing muscled men and women on glossy magazines sometimes make people aspire to achieve that kind of body. But it doesn’t happen overnight or by a simple snap of your fingers. Starvation is not the right way to do it either. It takes a lot of self-discipline and determination to achieve a fit body that makes a person feel good about himself. Exercising and eating healthy are good ways to burn fat easily and have the desired result of a slimmer figure.
Speeding up the metabolism
- Burning calories is attributed to having an active lifestyle. Exercise at least thrice a week to increase muscle mass. Go to the gym or do it at home. Choose a place that is convenient for you and your schedule. Weight training is one good way to gain some muscles. The ideal workout is to lift weights targeting the arms, legs, abs, chest and back. Repeatedly do it six to 10 times. Two sets of this will help you increase muscle mass
- Have fun exercising by doing cardiovascular activities that you like such as going for a hike or dancing to your favorite song. Perhaps visiting a park or joining a fun run with your family or friend will be a good alternative also. Keep your heart rate up for at least 30 minutes to one hour three to four times a week. Squeeze in this activity in your busy schedule and make it fun so you don’t get tired of doing it.
- Notice how Chinese love drinking tea? This is one of the reasons why they are healthy. Have some green tea because of the good nutritional content it has such as Flavonoids and Catechins. These prevent cancer, heart problems and controls obesity. Loose tea leaves are better compared than the tea bags sold in groceries. Drink it thrice a day and savor the goodness of it.
Count the calories
- Know how much calories you consume daily. 1,200 calories a day is the ideal intake. Compute it by multiplying your weight by 10 then subtract 500 calories from the sum to find out how much you need to burn the fat in your body.
- Water is the best way to cleanse your body instead of the artificial sodas or juices that are available in the supermarket. Drink 8 glasses daily to hydrate the body. Dehydration can cause fatigue and fainting spells. Avoid this by always having some liquid with you when working out.
- Fiber-rich foods are suggested for daily intake to increase fiber in the body. It helps with digestion and shedding some pounds. Fruits, leafy vegetables or legumes are the fiber-rich food that you can eat.
- Do not overeat nor starve yourself. Have a little bit of everything so that you get all the nutrition you need. Portions of vegetables, fruits, lean meat, fish, and brown rice will fill your stomach just enough to keep you going every day. Don’t deprive yourself but choose correctly when it comes to eating healthily.
This is definitely the way to go for people who aspire to be fit and healthier. I’m actually getting conscious of my figure, so I’ll be doing these things too to get fit the right way..
